At least with this part of our move. Mike reminded me that we are moving the 5th and not the 6th. They'll bring our things to Rouen the 6th. We have finished everything that was on our list to do. Plus we have been able to do a little bit more than we expected. We hadn’t really decided what paper we wanted in the entry. But when we had enough paper left over from the living/dining room we went ahead and did the entry that way too. It looks so nice.
Yesterday we worked on the hallway. This is a very loooooong hallway and at the end it makes a “t” into another hallway. We had to take the old wallpaper off (2 layers) to get it ready for painting with a primer. Somebody cut corners when they put the first paper on. So the paper is VERY difficult to take off. Mike worked most of the day and I helped him in the afternoon. Today Mike will paint the primer on the hallway and also do the ceiling.
Mike also started pulling off the wallpaper and the painted wood in the kitchen. But we’re kind of stuck in there until we can get the new kitchen put in. And THAT wasn’t in our plans or budget. It will have to wait until after the new year. We didn’t realize that the kitchen was in such bad shape. The outside of the counter and cupboards look nice but the inside is a different story. I took one of the drawers out to clean it and it literally fell apart. I put it back together enough to put it back in its space but we can’t use it.
This week we head back to Reims to finish getting things ready for the move which is one week from today. Now that the paper is done, we’re anxious to get our things here and to get settled in.

Thanks Esther for the changes to my blog. :-) What a surprise I had when I looked at the preview of this one. Love you.
You're welcome! I can change it if you want something different...it's fun for me to do! Glad you went ahead and finishing the hallway. Sorry to hear about needing a new kitchen...praying you can get the funds needed to do that. Love you lots!
Good job on all your remodeling. The delay in moving your stuff turned out for the best, really.
Nice Christmas touch, Esther.
Has Emily adjusted yet? She'll get all confused again with another trip back "home".
