Work, work, work

This title will resume what we have been up to since the last time I wrote.  In three of the rooms, Emily's room, our room, and Mike's study we have pulled off wallpaper, pulled up linoleum, painted baseboards, doors and ceilings and washed woodwork.  And in between we have washed, scrubbed, re-washed and re-scrubbed counters in the kitchen and bathroom and there is still plenty of scrubbing left to do.

Mike has literally spent hours on the phone trying to get things working in the house.  We now have heat, hot water and tomorrow we will have a fridge.  But unfortunately we still do not have internet or telephone.  Dad/Grandpa has our cell phone numbers if anyone needs to get a hold of us.

Yesterday was a "day off".  I spent the morning at the laundromat and Mike painted the doors.  After lunch we all went to a big hardware store, kind of like Lowes, and bought the flooring and other things that we need.  Then we spent two hours catching up on internet at McDonald's.  Ahhhhh!

We think we are on schedule for all of the work.  That is, if we can keep up the rhythm (that's probably not spelled right, but I can't think right now).  We will start the flooring in Emily's room today.  Last night we got the plastic (anti-humidity) put down and put down three boards.  But it was just to see what it would look like. :-)
Thank you for your prayers for us.  Continue to pray for Emily.  She wants to go "home" to Reims!!  That will give you an idea of her thinking.  We have explained to her but it still hasn't sunk in.  It is so hard.  Have a good week.

Wish you had a team of workers to help you! Did you realize you would have to do so much work when you purchased the house?

When you have the internet, go online to Calvary Baptist and see the transformation in that other white house the church owns. They call it the squirrel house because that who were the former residents. It looks so nice, I wouldn't mind buying it. Their idea was to fix it up and sell it. Whatever profit will pay back the seed money and put the rest into missions.

I will pray for daily strength for your big task ahead.

Love you all.
