Conference 2014

Our annual Baptist Mid Missions field conference was this past week.  April 22-25.  This year we had a joint conference with the missionaries from Germany.  There were about 55 of us all together.  With 19 kids. It reminded us of the old days of the BMM/EBM conferences when there were over 100 of us.

Conference 2014

The conference started on Tuesday this year and followed pretty much the usual schedule.  We arrived in time to get our rooms and have dinner and then we had our first meeting.

This year our speaker was a pastor from Muncie IN.  He did a good job.  He kept everyone's attention really good.

On Wednesday morning we had breakfast and then the first Bible study meeting.  Then a business meeting and then lunch and another business meeting.  We had the afternoon off after the second business meeting.

Our conference this year was in the Alps.  Near Grenoble.  It was a vacation center where retreats and small weekend meetings take place.  It was really nice.  They have several buildings.  But the best part was being in the mountains.  I think this was only our second time going to the Alps and the first time was during our first year in France over 30 years ago.

The second day took place just about like the first except that there wasn't an afternoon business meeting.  It said "sightseeing" on the schedule so Emily decided to accompany us as we went up into the mountains for a drive.  It was a beautiful day.  But there was a cloudy fog that hung over the mountains.  It was still beautiful.
