Dead Mouse and other things!

DEAD MOUSE
A week ago we were getting ready to leave for church.  We had an hour and a half drive ahead of us.  So we were kind of rushed.  Suddenly Mike said "We have a dead mouse".  I hollered (well, maybe I didn't really holler, but it sounds good) "WHERE?"  He said "Behind your chair"  I came into the living room and just about died. . . laughing!!                                                              Here is a picture of our dead mouse!

ONE EYED GATE

Emily and I went out one afternoon.  When we came home I got the car ready to put into the yard.  I got out of the car, opened the gate and turned to get back into the car to back it in.  But BANG!  Half of the gate had fallen.  The top hinge had come out of the pillar.  There was no way to put it back in.  Mike and I got it off the bottom hinge.  We tried to get the other half off but couldn't budge it and din't feel like working on it right then.  So for three days we had a one-eyed gate.

ROTTEN

We noticed when we bought the house that part of the fence out front needed painting.  .   We had other projects and let it go.  Little by little we've noticed that there were places that the wood was rotted.   Because the gate was only half there we've started looking into replacing it.  We've looked on line and saw how much it was going to cost (expensive).  We wanted to see what the front would look like without the fence being there.  Mike and I started with a sledge hammer.  We hit it and it fell apart.  It really was rotten!! We still don't know what we're going to do for the front.  But we've decided that the front doesn't look too bad without the fence.  What do you think?

SUNSHINE

We have had three weeks of sunshine.  Two weeks ago we set up the swimming pool. Emily has been in it everyday except maybe three.  And the rest of the afternoon she sits at the little table and reads her books. She even eats her supper outside.  She got a little too much sun.  But she looks so cute "in" pink.

EMILY

Last week Emily has an appointment with an Endrocrinologist for her thyroid.  Her levels have been higher than they should be.  Our general practicionner wasn't concerned.  Her level was at 6.  He said that if it had been at 10 he would have put her on medication.  He sent us to the specialist.  The specialist talked to us about her problems and said they could all be tied to hypothyroidisme.  He put her on thyroid medicine.  He wants her levels at 1.   I read the indications on the notice for the medicine.   It said that it could take up to a month to see any change.

MIKE

Mike went back to the surgeon this week.  He had been having a lot of pain.  He found out that he has an abscess.  He is on antibiotics now.

NEW CHURCH

These past couple of Sundays we have been in a church in the Paris area (St. Denis).   There has been good attendance both Sundays inspite of vacations.  Mike has done really good (like usual).   We'll be back in that church in August for one Sunday.  The next three Sundays we'll be in the Paris center church.  We're getting pretty good at driving in Paris. I think we've driven to Paris more in the last couple of months than we have done in all of our 31 years here in France.
