What have we been doing?

It has been a while since I last posted a blog?  So. . .what have we been up to?  Our time is still divided between Reims and Rouen.

While we are in Reims we spend most of our time packing.  We have made good progress over the weeks.  Most of the cupboards are emptied and in boxes.  What is the most interesting in the packing business is trying to find enough boxes.  The boxes that we have were given to us by a lady in the church in Rouen.  Plus she found some that someone had left on the sidewalk to be taken by the trash man.  One time we found some by the big trash bin right behind our house.   So we really haven't had too much trouble getting them.   We haven't filled them all, yet.  That time is coming though.

See how hard we have been working??
While we are in Rouen we spend a lot of time on the internet looking for houses.
We look at different agencies and also different web pages.  We have visited one house and also have started the process of buying it.  It fits all of our criteria.  I will write more about that when things are more settled.

Because of looking at houses and also buying one we have been going to different banks to see about financing for the house.  They have a special loan that you can get here in France that is kind of like a temporary loan that you take out and pay off immediately when your house sells.  It is kind of complicated but that is what we are looking into.

Of course, in the meantime we have our responsibilities at the church.  Mike preaches on Sunday and has the Bible study on Tuesday night.  He is also doing pre-marital counselling for a couple who will be getting married at the end of August.  We are getting to know the people in the church as we are invited out to their homes.

While you have all been suffering from the heat, we have had a very cool, rainy summer.  It has been perfect for what we need to do.  Plus it has helped keep my flowers alive in two different cities!!

Can you tell how much rain we've had lately!!
In Reims
In Rouen
Thank you for your prayers for us:
  • for our house in Reims would sell.
  • for the Lord's will concerning the house we would like to buy.
  • for Emily during all of the changes.

Enjoyed your new post. Been thinking about you having to live in two cities! "Now where is ....Oh yea, that's packed already back in Reims."

So glad you had that nice rest before you headed into your current life. Details, finances, packing, driving.

Love you!
