Emily's new friend

People ask us all the time about how Emily is adjusting to the trips back and forth from Reims to Rouen.  The very first time was the hardest, I think.  We arrived back in France on Wednesday and had to leave again on Saturday.  She was just re-adjusting to being back in France and voilà we tell her we have to leave.  Leaving all of her "things" that she was re-discovering was very difficult for her.

Since we had a very good first Sunday here in Rouen AND we are so comfortable in this little appartment, she hasn't made a fuss about leaving Reims again.  In fact, she even gets up early on Sunday morning.  We haven't had to wake her up for her to be ready in time to leave for church.  Which proves, to us, that she is comfortable with the church too.

I think she was even more excited about coming back to Rouen this week because yesterday morning there were some strangers going through our house.  Yes, the house was listed on Thursday and on Saturday they showed the house for the first time.  We haven't heard yet what the people thought about the house.  While the visit was going on Mike and Emily sat out in the front yard and I went to get gas in the car.

When we got here she asked if she could go outside for a walk.  That surprised us!!  Emily wanting to go for a walk.  Well. . . she really didn't go very far.  She went out, walked down the sidewalk and sat under a tree.  While she was sitting there a kitty cat came over and "talked" to her.  Emily said the cat let her pet her and everything.  I was watching at one point when Emily came in and the cat came around the corner of the hedge and watched Emily until she came in the house.
Emily and her friend having a "talk"!!
This afternoon Emily went back out and sat on the balcony.  When the cat came out Emily went over to the tree and again the cat came right over to her.  I was listening and she really does "talk".  All different kinds of meows.  It was cute to listen to and to watch.  So now we say that Emily has a new friend.  The cat runs away if it sees either Mike or me but will come right to Emily.

Hope you all had a good Sunday.

Awww, how cute! I'm glad Emily made a new friend in Rouen. Once you get settled for good, are you going to get another kitty???
