Poor Papa!!

Several weeks ago Mike had a dentist appointment and found out that he had a cyst.  It really showed up big on the x-ray so he was sent to a specialist.  The cyst had formed around one of his wisdom teeth.  His wisdom teeth had grown in sideways and had never broken the surface.  The specialist said that the one wisdom tooth would have to come out along with the cyst.  When Mike decided to have it done under a general anesthetic the specialist said he would probably take three of the four out.

Yesterday the THE day.  I took him to the clinique in the morning.  Everything went like clockwork.  The surgery went well.  We found out later that he took out all four teeth.  I picked him up around 5:00 and we came home.

Here are some "cute" pictures.  I took these when he first got home.

Pumpkin showing him how to sleep.  "You do it like this!!"

His lips and mouth were really quite swollen and he had pain in his neck and jaw.  They told us at the clinique that sometimes they unhinge (for lack of a better word) the jaw joint when they operate.  We think that maybe he had that since his jaw is so sore.

He had a rough night.  Too much pain.  Today he is having a hard time opening his mouth.  He can hardly get a small spoon between his lips.  And it hurts him to talk much and swallow.  But the swelling seems better.  He now looks like he has a half golf ball on either side of his lower jaw.
See the "golf ball"?

Thank you for praying for him.

Did they give him a script for pain meds? They should have! Ouch. Hope healing is way on its way by now. At least they won't grow back!
