A long time coming!!

I know that it has been a while since I wrote a blog.  (Thanks for the reminder, Kathy.)  The French have a good saying for our life up until this past week.  It is called the "train-train".  (pronounced more or less like "trun-trun")  Our weeks just continued one after another.

This past weekend we started being "on the road again".  We are now in a little village back over in the eastern part of France in the South of the same region that we lived in for 25 years, the Champagne-Ardennes.  We are in Bar Sur Seine, filling in for Tony and Kathy Pepe.  They have been here for 14 years and have a small work going.  They will be in the States on their furlough for three months.  We came last weekend while the Pepes were still here to meet the people and for them to show us their house.

The entryway from the livingroom.  There are four bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs.  The basement is finished.  They started their church in their basement.

The church meets in building that the city lets them have for very little rent.  It is really nice.  There are about 20 people when they all come.  Last Sunday we met most of them. 

It is much bigger than it looks from the outside.  I'll get pictures of the inside as time goes by. 

We will be making the trip back and forth like we did when we were in Laon.  It is another hour of travel each way, but not impossible.  We will probably stay over some weeks because there will be yard work to do.

While most of you have been "enjoying" snow and bitter cold tempoeratures, we have had the wettest, mildest winter since 1900.  This past week we had a couple of days of over 50° températures.  It gave my crocuses time to open and show all of their colors.  Kind of gives you spring fever.
